Do you need a co-founder?

This is billion dollar question but here’s my take on it –

Building products or Starting Up is a lonely and difficult journey.

You will get bored, lose motivation and even be on the verge of giving up.

Having a co-founder helps you get a different perspective, adds a layer of support and also helps you stay comitted to the journey

It is very hard to do everything alone and it can become overwhelming

As an Indie Hacker or a Boostrapped Builder, you have to take care of everything from development to marketing – Best to divide work with someone with a complementary skillset.

But there are a lot of people who seem to have figured out how to do it the solo way – I have not and I cannot.

If you are a developer, you might as well but if you aren’t one – it would be very difficult for you unless you are skilled enough to get eveyrhting outsourced.

Finally, the decision should be based on

  • Your skillset
  • Your ability to stay committed on a very long journey
  • Your ability to work with people

Build a product with someone, learn the art and then maybe build on your own if you want to.
