A lot of builders end up spending a shit ton of money when they start a project. This is exactly what you shouldn’t do. We don’t believe in spending money until we are fairly confident with the product. Even when we are, we try our best to reduce costs by as much as possible.
- Dont buy a domain every time an idea hits you
- Avoid this at all costs. Seems small money but you will end up spending $100s of dollars and build nothing.
- Don’t spend on Hosting
- Could hosting providers such as AWS, GCP, Azure have free plans and they also have credits programs.
- Serverless hosting providers such as Vercel have free plans – Try to utilise those as much as possible before you choose to upgrade.
- Dont spend on SaaS Tools
- You will be enticed to spend on SaaS tools that will help you build your product or add features to your product. Avoid unnecessary – only pay for the utmost necessary ones.
- You don’t need
- You dont need a perfect product to start with
- Dont spend hundreds of $$$ on hiring the best designer. The first version can use a template or an existing design system.
- Hire Interns if you need support
- Dont hire expensive Devs or Designers, just find someone cheap who can get the job done.
- Do not hire folks for marketing or growth unless you have figured out the funnels yourself.
- Do not start Ads unless your conversion funnel is tested
- Unless your conversion is in place and has decent enough ROI at baseline CPCs, DO NOT RUN ADS
- Get Credits & Discounts
- You can find credits and discounts for everything from OpenAI to AWS. Check out the next section for these credit programs. You will need a working landing page with a domain in most cases to apply.
